I missed out

I was forced to grow up, I had to be responsible despite my young age.

My childhood in a broken home may have not always been the most luxurious but it taught me independence, strength, patience amongst many other things.

Remember being 7 years old and there being one kid in class that never came on the school trips? That was me.

When all the kids around had the newest trainers… I lived in hand me downs.

You get your first mobile phone and compare in the school playground. Closest thing I had was a walkie talkie (they’re still ace)

I never had the most stylish clothes or the newest gadgets, all the way up until high school. But this taught me that I had to work hard for nice things.
My work ethic is strong nowadays, I push my limits and I do my best in every aspect of my life.

You could say I’m grateful my childhood took a very basic path, and more often than not I really am. But I’m only human after all, and sometimes I do wonder what my life would be like if I could rewrite time.

It makes you think doesn’t it?
